Abbey Road Studios: The home of music making

Abbey Road is the kind of name that carries weight, but that legendary status had become a double-edged sword. An iconic brand still living in its glory days, a digital offer that wasn't advertised and a complicated brand architecture that needed wrangling.

From movie and video game soundtracks to hit songs, the fabric of listeners' lives begins in Abbey Road: the 'home of music making'. It's more than the Beatles. It's a thriving recording studio shaping the backing track of our lives, especially today.

In my first week on the job I dived head-first into mapping the competitor landscapes, helping with sector research, and synthesising stakeholder interviews. I took part in group brand workshops and worked with a Senior Copywriter and Senior Strategist to hone positioning and write campaign, website, and social copy.

Our job was to hold two truths at once: respecting the legacy while making sure the next generation of musicians felt like the studio was theirs too. With new positioning in place, Abbey Road rolled out its new look and feel, shouting about the amazing work it does in film, TV, and video games for the first time.
